One of the reasons why we travel the world is to experience the new and exotic. To find something different or profound from the familiar. Whether done as an extended holiday or a nomadic lifestyle, it’s inherently adventurous and liberating.

This insatiable impulse to explore and try new things frees us from our inhibitions and doubt. It empowers us to do more and say “yes” more often.

A perfect setting and mindset to conquer fears.

It doesn’t matter if a specific fear seems rational or not to someone else’s perception, only to your own. But there are plenty of things in this world that people fear that can otherwise be an amazing experience.

As for myself, it was rock climbing, or specifically, the fear of heights. This fear hindered me from the awesomeness of this activity for years. An activity I now try to do whenever possible. A fear I still have but learned to overcome by facing it. Because of my world travel lifestyle, facing this fear presented itself randomly on Koh Phi Phi in Thailand. I couldn’t refuse. On one of the most beautiful tropical islands in the world with a group of adventure seekers like myself.

The longer and further you travel, the more confident and braver you get. You learn more about the world and yourself. It develops you. It may not make you fearless but it does make you less fearful.
