/// TIHK : The Tiny Inconspicuous Handcuff Key
Tiny Inconspicuous Handcuff Key
As a vagabond and explorer I’m always on different foreign lands. Territories that are often volatile or underdeveloped where tourist kidnapping is an actual threat and the local law enforcement isn’t always law abiding.
While the chance of being illegally or mistakenly detained with handcuffs is highly unlikely, the possibility is very real. Which is why I carry a TIHK as part of my SERE everyday carry.
The TIHK is a tool that’ll most likely never be used but could be a literal lifesaver when it is. Like a survival kit, except the Tiny Inconspicuous Handcuff Key is minimal “attach & forget” gear.
The TIHK Handcuff Key
Of the 3 standard variations of covert nonmetallic handcuff keys, these excel in effortless and rapid deployment as well as attachment capabilities. Made from a durable single piece of reinforced polymer plastic with a non-reflective matte finish. The brilliantly elegant and minimal patent pending design of the TIHK has an integrated clip seamless to the overall key – yet remains the most low-profile.
The sole function of any covert plastic handcuff key is to help an illegally / wrongly detained subject to unlock handcuffs from themselves to initiate an escape. Strategically the key should be easily accessible when the hands are in detained positions, all the while being inconspicuous or even completely concealed.
The TIHK is the most perfect solution.
As the handcuff key must be within reach while detained, the most ideal places to attach them is on the shirt sleeve, through the pant belt loop or on the underwear waistband. This can be achieved with any handcuff key with sewing or using safety pins but the built-in clip on these makes it self-supporting. Allowing for easier detaching / attaching, efficient deployment, less visibility and nonmagnetic.
